How "The Board Room" Works
If your board has failed for one of the reasons mentioned on our Services page
contact RBS via PM on TPF, and include the following information:
- The problem with your board, fault symptoms, any other useful information etc.
- Include the FRU number of the board (on the underside of the motherboard between the bottom RAM connector arms).
- Your email address.
Further communications will be by email.
We will email you a quotation with the following:
- The FRU part number of the replacement board(s) we can offer you
- The price for a replacement board
- How quickly we can send it to you
- Payment details
If this is OK, once your payment has cleared, we'll immediately send your replacement board out to you.
You will also receive a 90 day Warranty document covering you against failure of the board.

We aim to have the most common types of boards in stock and will usually be able to send a replacement out to you straight away. Where an equivalent board is offered, it will be the nearest available.
Our inventory of refurbished boards will be listed on our Current Stock page and updated regularly. Don't worry if the board you're after isn't listed. Many are interchangeable and we'll send you the nearest equivalent, which will work the same or better.
Note that some boards will be more popular or unusual and may take a little time to get to you.
We aim to send your replacement board out on the next business day.
If you don't feel confident to do the board swap yourself, we will be happy to do this for you.
Just send your T4x or R5x laptop to us (without hard disk, battery and AC adapter) and we will exchange the board and fully test your laptop for you.
We will charge you a nominal fee of $50.00 for this.
You may NOT use The Board Room as a supply source of refurbished motherboards for sale elsewhere.
